Kitchen Hearth

Kitchen Hearth

Although most of us no longer have a kitchen fireplace where we cook our meals and gather around as families, just the notion of a hearth brings a warm and comfy feeling to our minds and hearts. In today’s world our “hearths” are created by the love, warmth, and comfort a woman can bring during the making of the meals and at mealtime.

A woman can set the tone in any room of the house. The kitchen particularly brings anxious joy of good food and fun conversation. It is in this room, at the kitchen table, that for as long as time can remember, families have gathered and spent most of their togetherness. There is strength in the family togetherness. So, put on a pretty apron, a smile, and your happy disposition, set a comely table and enjoy your work in the kitchen. Gather your family around you for mealtime and strengthen and love each other through conversation. Your family is your true treasure in life.

February Post:

Have you tried putting a becoming table cloth on your kitchen table?  A nice table cloth of the right color and design can really brighten up the kitchen and make your work in the kitchen seem brighter.  I have a couple of department store magazines from the 1940's and they have an entire section dedicated to kitchen decor.  The curtains, table cloths, hotpads, towels, aprons, and washclothes were all matching.  They were simply adorable!  But what I'm getting at is that  great emphasis was placed on working in an atmosphere you love in the kitchen.  Find yourself a table cloth that speaks to you and goes well with your kitchen and just see what happens.  My table cloth is red gingham.
